Your browsing is your business.

The short version

Automatic product recognition happens on your device. We receive a product page URL and its details when you choose to save it, or when you paste its link on Add a link, which our server fetches to read its details. When a page matches an item you already asked us to track, we receive that item's current price and availability, not the page itself. For items saved from stores we have approved for automated checks, our servers also re-check the saved product page about once a day; the store sees a request from Love This, with no cookies and nothing that identifies you.

Information we collect

Account and authentication information

When you create an account, we store your name, email address, authentication identifiers, and preferences. The website and extension also use session tokens to keep you signed in. Google shares basic profile information only if you choose Google sign-in.

Items you choose to save

Saved records can include the product URL, canonical URL, merchant, name, image, price, original price, currency, selected variant, product identifiers (such as SKU, GTIN, or MPN), availability, description, and the wishlist you choose. We also store verified price observations so you can see history. Because a saved or matched product includes its URL, Chrome may classify this limited product-page data as web history even though Love This does not collect your general browsing history.

Links you paste on Add a link

When you paste a product link on Add a link, our server fetches that page once to read its name, price, and picture for you to review, before anything is saved. If you do not save it, we keep nothing about the page. To prevent abuse, each check leaves a short-lived rate-limit record (your account, the store's web address, and a one-way hash of your IP address), which is cleared out after a day.

Extension and device data

The extension may read product metadata from the active shopping page to prepare the save card. Unsaved page contents are not sent to our servers. Optional access to all HTTPS pages enables automatic product detection; toolbar-only saving continues to work when you decline it. The extension stores its session, settings, card position, dismissed stores, and one-way digests of saved product URLs in Chrome storage.

Billing information

If you buy Shopaholic, you pay on Stripe's own checkout page. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, the plan you chose, its status, when the current period ends, and whether it is set to cancel. Love This never receives or stores your full payment-card number.

Messages you send us

If you email hello@lovethis.shop, we keep your address and your message so we can answer you.

Service and security data

Our hosting and authentication providers may process ordinary request data such as IP address, browser type, timestamps, and error or security logs when you use Love This. We use this data only to operate, protect, and diagnose the service.

How information is used

• Provide, sync, and organize your private wishlists.
• Create revocable, read-only share links when requested.
• Refresh saved prices when you revisit those product pages, check items from supported stores on a schedule, and deliver verified price-drop updates.
• Read a product page you paste on Add a link so you can review it before saving.
• Run your Shopaholic subscription if you buy one.
• Authenticate accounts, prevent abuse, and diagnose service failures.

Our legal bases

Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on these grounds:

• Contract: to provide the service you signed up for, including your account, wishlists, share links, price refreshes, Add a link, and Shopaholic if you buy it.
• Legitimate interests: to keep Love This secure and working (sign-in protection, rate limits, and security and error logs) and to check items from supported stores on a schedule for you. You can object to the scheduled checks at any time by switching price tracking off for your account, which stops new scheduled checks, or for one item, which stops them at once.
• Consent: for optional features you choose to turn on, such as browser price-drop notifications and the extension's automatic product detection. Turning them off withdraws that consent.
• Legal obligation: to keep the billing records that tax and accounting law requires, and to answer lawful requests.

Service providers and disclosure

We disclose only the information needed to vendors that operate Love This: Supabase provides authentication, database storage, and the servers that run scheduled price checks; Vercel hosts the website and API; Google provides optional sign-in; Zoho ZeptoMail delivers sign-in emails; and Zoho Mail holds the messages you send to our support address. Stripe processes billing if you buy a paid plan on the website; Love This does not receive or store your full payment-card number. These providers process data under their own service and privacy terms. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the service and its users. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.

We do not routinely read wishlist contents. Human access is limited to cases where you ask for support, where access is needed to investigate security or abuse, to comply with law, or to operate the service using aggregate information that does not require reading your saved content.

International transfers

Our providers process data in the United States and in other countries outside the UK and the European Economic Area; Zoho, for example, holds our email in its US data centre. When personal data from the UK or the EU is transferred, we rely on the safeguards these providers offer in their data-processing terms, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum, or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension where a provider is certified.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Love This's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use extension page data only to provide the wishlist and price-refresh features you request; we do not use it for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated profiling.

Price tracking

Love This keeps a saved price fresh in two ways:

• When you revisit. If the extension recognizes a product page you saved, it sends us that item's current price and availability, not the page itself.
• Scheduled checks. For items saved from stores we have approved for automated checks, our servers re-request the saved product page about once a day (normally no more than once every 24 hours) and read its price. This is on by default for items that have a price, have no particular size or colour chosen, and are not marked bought. Before every check our servers read the store's robots.txt and follow it, and they identify themselves as LoveThisPriceTracker. The request carries no cookies and nothing that identifies you.

Switching price tracking off in Settings, or for a single item, stops revisit refreshes and new scheduled checks. Our checks do not get past logins, paywalls or bot checks, and they skip any page a store's robots.txt closes to LoveThisPriceTracker. A saved price always includes its last verified time; unavailable sources show “visit to refresh” or “unsupported.”

Cookies and local storage

Love This uses no advertising or analytics cookies and loads no analytics or advertising scripts. When you sign in, the website sets cookies that hold your sign-in session; they are strictly necessary for your account to work, so we do not ask for consent to them. Your browser also keeps a few things on your device: your display preferences (default currency and reduced motion) and how many lists and items you have, so loading placeholders match your page, in local storage; and, while Google sign-in is under way, a one-time anti-forgery value in session storage.

Product pictures in your wishlists load straight from the store that published them, so that store sees an ordinary image request from your browser; we do not send it the address of the page you are on. Stripe checkout and Google sign-in happen on their own sites, under their own cookie policies.

Sharing and retention

Anyone with an active share link can view that list, so share it thoughtfully. Turning sharing off revokes the token.

• Account content and price history remain until you remove them or delete your account.
• Deleting your account also deletes your Stripe customer, which ends any subscription. Stripe keeps payment and invoice records for as long as financial and tax law requires.
• Emails to hello@lovethis.shop are kept for as long as we need them to help you and handle any follow-up.
• Rate-limit records from Add a link are cleared out after a day.
• Our hosting and authentication providers keep request and security logs for the limited periods they set.

Account deletion removes owner data from the active service, subject to limited backups, security records, transaction records, or other retention required by law.

Your choices and rights

You can disable automatic page access in Chrome, switch off price tracking globally or per item, decline browser notifications, revoke shared links, export your data, and delete your account from Settings.

If you are in the UK or the EU, you also have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it (including anything we do on the basis of legitimate interests), to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. To use any of these rights, or with any privacy question, write to hello@lovethis.shop; we answer within one month.

You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, the authority where you live or work. We would be grateful for the chance to put things right first.
